RAID Open Water Course in Kota Kinabalu – 3 DAYS

The course is 3 days and involves an online pre-study (takes about 10 hours) followed by three days on our boat, during which you will complete confined water skill sessions, four open water dives, and a swim and float test. Upon completing the RAID Open Water Course, you will be a certified RAID Open Water Diver and be able to dive to 18 metres with a buddy anywhere in the world.
During your RAID Open Water Course with Borneo Dream, all confined skill sessions and open water course dives are completed in the lovely tropical waters of Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, located in front of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Who can take a RAID Open Water Dive Course?
The RAID Open Water course is designed for anyone aged 15 or older with a passion for exploring the underwater world. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some snorkelling experience, this course is perfect for starting your scuba diving journey. Participants should be in good health, comfortable in water, and able to swim at least 200 metres unaided. With flexible e-learning and expert in-water training, the course accommodates diverse learning styles, ensuring all participants develop the skills and confidence needed to dive safely to a depth of 18 metres. To join a RAID Open Water 20 Course, you must be:-
- Aged 15 years or older. Children aged 10 to 14 years can consider joining the RAID Open Water (Junior) course.
- Fit, healthy and able to swim comfortably (200 metres) in water too deep to stand up in. You will be required to self-certify that you are healthy to go diving before you start the course. If you answer YES to any question on the Medical form, we will need to see a signed letter from your doctor saying you are healthy enough to dive.
