Professional but fun from start to finish. – I’ve been diving for 15 years and this is the first time I’ve felt compelled to write a review of a dive operator and I’ve rated these guys as excellent. I usually email an operator before we arrive, just to ask a few questions and get the gist of the operation. BD could not have been more helpful, responsive and professional. We were a little unsure about meeting up at the jetty, not a dive centre as there’s usually a sizing issue or equipment snafu but to our pleasant surprise, all the kit was there incorrect sizing and all set up including the EAN requested. Slight offsets are the fact you don’t get to practice the kit-up/down but then again you’re on holiday! Also, this means payment is taken upfront in advance but means we set off on long-haul holiday knowing everything was all booked. Leaving from the bustling jetty at Jesselton is good fun and quite a sight, but the BD boat fleet is excellent. Tanks are in recessed racks and the larger boat even has a centre table which is really handy for kit or just hanging on to. All boat are well sun protected as well. Really reassuring to get proper boat briefing, dive plans and dive master/buddy checks. So far so serious but the fun starts underwater in TARP, for ideas see the excellent Facebook page which is also a nice touch since you can grab some beautiful pictures from the boat from there for the holiday album. We were two AoW divers and guides left us to calmly explore the impressive coral and tropical marine life with minimal interruption other than crucial airchecks and notable fish sightings. Dives were on average 60 mins. We were a little cautious about doing two tank dives as opposed to one as it extends the day but once you’re all kitted up and out on the park it’s does make sense and also means you can grab an indigenous lunch on one of the unspoilt islands. Another plus is their ability to manage clients right across the range from, snorkelers, entry-level to more advanced divers and they are equally welcoming and encouraging to all. Great job Luke and team, thanks!
