The PADI Adventure Diver Course is a one day course and provides an introduction to speciality diving. During this course, you will complete three-course dives which you will choose from a range of speciality dives including underwater photography, deep diving, underwater navigation, fish identification and more. A good choice for a certified PADI Open Water Diver who only has a day free and wants to learn more about a selection of diving skills.

To Book – Simply select the number of persons in your group and the date you require. The price displayed is then the group price including any Sabah Parks Conservation Fees required. Unless you are joining an existing group the minimum booking is 2 persons.

Dive computer rental

Monitor your dives with a dive computer rental. We offer Mares Puck Pro dive computers for rental. They are very simple to use and are also Nitrox/Enriched Air capeable. The replacement cost should you lose or damage it is RM 1000.00/unit.

U/Water Digiatal Camera Rental

Why not capture a few underwater memories with an underwater camera rental. We offer a Nikon W300 rated to 30m or Canon G16 with an underwater housing rated to 40m. At the end of the day, your images will be uploaded to either DropBox or Google Drive and a link shared with you. Please be aware that there will be a charge for loss or damage to the camera and housing of RM2500.00

Once you have finished your PADI Open Water Diver Course you will probably want to enhance your scuba diving skills further and gain more scuba diving experience. The PADI Adventures in Diving course does just that, offering you the chance to learn whilst enjoying your sport in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia.

The PADI Adventure Diver course consists of three (3) ocean dives. You choose from a range of PADI Specialities from Deep diving to Underwater Photography – the choice is yours. Expand your mind and learn new things – PADI Adventure Diver Course, Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia

Each dive on the PADI Adventures in Diving programme represents the first dive of the associated PADI Speciality. So, for example, if you were to complete three (3) further deep dives with us you could qualify as a PADI Deep Diver with a depth rating of 40m (For the PADI Deep Diver Speciality the minimum age is 15 years). So there’s more reason to complete your PADI Adventure Diver course with Borneo Dream in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia.

Most of our PADI speciality dives will be held in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park (TARP), Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia. The PADI Wreck speciality will be run at Usukan Wreck (subject to minimum numbers and weather) or the new wreck located in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park.

If you had two days free to go scuba diving in Kota Kinabalu then you could consider completing the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course which provides both an introduction to speciality diving and certifies you to dive to 30 metres.

Typical Itinerary for the PADI Adventure Diver Course in Kota Kinabalu

Pre-study Session

As with all PADI Courses, there is some pre-study. However, with PADI Adventure Diver Course the manual is relatively painless and most of the chapters you will find enjoyable and easygoing. Out of the many chapters in the manual you only need to read 3 and complete 3 associated knowledge reviews for your chosen three speciality dives. Please refer to Borneo Dream prior to starting to read other chapters.

Day 1

You will meet our Dive crew at 8:45 am at Jesselton Point Jetty in central Kota Kinabalu. Please refer to your Booking Email for your meeting location arrangements. Please beware our boats will depart on time and should miss your collection you will need to contact our office on +60178118149 immediately.

Today you will complete the three Adventure Diver course dives in our local marine park, with lunch on a tropical island. There will be two-course dives in the morning and one-course dive after lunch. Depending upon your understanding of the academic side of things more reviews and learning may take place over lunch. You will be dropped back at Jesselton Point Jetty in centra Kota Kinabalu around 4 pm.

PADI Course Pre-requisites

  • You are a certified PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent) and a minimum of 12 years or older.
  • Be in good health to go scuba diving. If you are on any medication you should consult your doctor before signing up.

Notes

PADI Liability Forms and a PADI Medical Form must be signed by the participant before the PADI Course starts. You need to have minimum 18 hours free after diving before flying on a plane, or changing altitude > 300 metres, in line with PADI safety standards.

Any participant under 18 years is supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
