PADI Scuba Diver Course in Kota Kinabalu
Do you want to learn to dive but only have 2 days? Then the PADI Scuba Diver Course in Kota Kinabalu is the one for you. The PADI Scuba Diver course involves pre-study and two days on our boat during which you will complete confined water skill sessions, two open water dives and a float test. Upon completing the scuba diver course you will be a certified PADI Scuba Diver and be able to dive to 12 metres with a buddy under the guidance of a PADI Professional. All scuba diver confined skill sessions and course dives are completed in the lovely tropical waters of Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park located in front of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This means not only will you learn to dive in toasty tropical waters you'll also have the chance to see some beautiful, colourful tropical marine life as you dive by coral reefs.

If you have more time available during your holiday in Kota Kinabalu, why not learn to dive via the 3 day PADI Open Water Diver Course. It just takes an extra day of course diving activities, and a bit more study, on top of the PADI Scuba Diver Course to become a certified PADI Open Water Diver.
Course Itinerary - Full PADI Scuba Diver Course
Arrive at our city centre sales office at Wisma Sabah. During this study session you will watch 3 sections from the PADI Scuba Diver Course DVD. Complete 3 chapters plus corresponding Knowledge Reviews and 3 little quizzes. All this should take around 4 hours - That's the scuba diver book work done :-)
Day 1 - PADI Scuba Diver Course
Your need to meet our Dive Crew at the Red Public Telephone Booths at the entrance to Jesselton Point Jetty (in central Kota Kinabalu) at 8:45am, for a 9:00am boat departure. You will enjoy a ~ 20 - 30 minute boat transfer to your morning dive site in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park.
9:30am - Receive a full safety briefing provided by your PADI Instructor for your morning diving activities. You will then complete your 10 minute float.
10:00am - You'll be helped into your dive gear. During the morning training session you will complete confined skill session 1 and go for a shot dive to practice your diving buoyancy. The morning session will take place in a protected bay in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park which offers safe, confined like training conditions. You might also get to see Clown wish, Blue Spotted Sting Rays, Damsel Fish, Puffer Fish and more during your first dive. Cool!
11:30am - 12 noon - Back on our boat. You'll be transferred to Padang Point for a tasty lunch.
~1:30pm - Back on to our dive boat. Your PADI Instructor will provide a full briefing for your first open water course dive. Put your dive gear on and start your first boat dive. You'll be shown how to safely enter the water from a boat before starting your first open water course dive. Join your PADI Instructor for a dive along a shallow coral reef during which you'll see hard and soft corals and some colourful tropical marine life. The dive can last anywhere from 30 - 50 minutes depending on your air consumption.
3:00pm - Back on our boat after you finish your first open water course dive. Once you've taken your dive gear apart and rinsed it in fresh water you'll have chance to change into your dry clothes before being transferred back to Jesselton Point Jetty.
Day 2 - PADI Scuba Diver Course
Meet our Dive Crew at Jesselton Point Jetty for 8:45am, for a 9:00am boat departure. By the end of today, once all activities are completed successfully, you'll be a PADI Scuba Diver! During the morning diving session you will complete Confined Water Training Sessions 2 and 3 followed by lunch. In the afternoon it is time for your PADI Open Water Dive 2. During this dive you will have a chance to practice your buoyancy skills and further master some of the important diving skills you have learned during the confined skill sessions. Back on our boat and high 5's with your PADI Instructor - you are now a PADI Scuba Diver. You will be transferred back to Jesselton Point Jetty (arriving back between 3:30pm - 4:30pm). Congratulations on becoming a certified PADI Diver!!
To join a PADI Scuba Diver Course you must be:-
- Aged 10 years or older.
- Able to swim comfortably in water to deep too stand up in.
- Fit and in good health. You will be required to self certify you are healthy to go diving before you start the course. If you will answer YES to any question on the PADI Medical form we will need to see a signed letter from your doctor saying you are healthy to dive.
