Join a Kinabalu National Park & Poring Hot Springs tour to get a glimpse of the flora & fauna that makes Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia so special – a great combination for enjoying mountain scenery, seeing some of the beautiful endemic flowers of Sabah, Borneo, going on a canopy walk to experience the rainforest canopy and enjoying a dip on the hot springs at Poring.
After a short stop at Nabalu Market on the way, your first visit will be to Kinabalu Park. The Kinabalu National Park is over 700 square kilometres and home to an amazing range of flora. Kinabalu Park, Sabah has a changing climate that supports rain forest plants in the lower regions then as you ascend you are able to experience different types of plants from coniferous forest to alpine type plants near the summit of Mount Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia. Once at Kinabalu Park you will join a guided walk around the Mountain Garden, a well maintained botanical garden – where hopefully you will see some orchids in bloom.

After lunch you will visit Poring Hot Springs. Poring Hot Springs is located near Ranau, about 25km from the Kinabalu National Park headquarters, but named Poring after the local name for one of the species of bamboo found in the area. At Poring Hot Springs you can relax in the sulphuric mineral water – the ‘hot’ springs – that is claimed to have curing powers. You also enjoy a walk along the canopy walk which provides an amazing way to view the forest from high up in the impressive Mengarris trees. You can also choose to visit the butterfly farm and learn more about the amazing, and colourful, local species, or, visit the orchid conservation area with the largest live collection of the Sabah Orchid and rare local wild orchids in Sabah (conservation entrance fees applicable for both).

Trip Itinerary - Kinabalu Park & Poring Hot Springs, Sabah, Malaysia
08.00 - 08:15hrs: You will be collected from your hotel in central Kota Kinabalu. You will be transferred by coach north from Kota Kinabalu for a ~ 2 hours drive. Stop at Nabalu Market on the way to Kinabaku Park for an opportunity to check out local handicrafts and fruits.
10:00hrs - 10:30hrs: arrive at Kinabalu Park and join a guided walk in the Mountain Garden.
12:30hrs: enjoy lunch at a local café near Ranau.
14:00hrs: After lunch you will visit Poring Hot Springs. Join an uphill walk through the tropical rainforest to the 37 meters high treetop Canopy Walkway. Hear the calls of birds and insects as you cross the Walkway. You can also choose to take a dip in the sulphur rich water tub or visit the nearby Butterfly Farm (entrance fee not included).
16:00hrs: Start your journey back to Kota Kinabalu. You will arrive back at your hotel around 19:00hrs (depending on traffic).
This trip is suitable for all. Please note is a 2- 3 hour coach transfer per way so this trip is not suitable for you if you want to avoid long coach journey's.

RM5 fee per camera and RM30 fee per video camera for the Canopy Walkway at Poring Hot Springs. Conservation entrance fee if you choose to visit either the Butterfly Farm or orchid conservation area at Poring Hot Springs.

Binoculars, insect repellent, long sleeve shirts & long pants, raincoat, sun hat and sun protection cream, swim wear and towel (for the ‘hot springs’), comfortable walking shoes, water bottle.
