Kapalai Resort
Kapalai Resort sits on stilts on the shallow sandbanks of the Ligitan Reefs, located near Pulau Sipadan and Pulau Mabul. It is an ideal location for enjoying scuba diving at Sipadan, nearby Mabul and diving some of the 28 dive sites around Kapalai. The Resort offers Diver and Non-Diver packages and provides good quality accommodation suitable for the discerning Diver. The Resort is home to a chain of 59 wooden chalets and all are linked by long wooden walkways. All chalets are spacious and nicely furnished. The Chalets offer twin and triple sharing accommodation and each comes with a balcony, bathroom with shower and bathtub, coffee and tea making facilities and 220 volts electrical points. From the balcony you can spend hours looking at the sea and watching the marine life in the sea below your chalet. Bliss!
Other facilities available at Kapalai Resort are Broadband Internet Access, satellite phone as well as other water activities such as swimming, snorkeling and ocean kayaking. As for dining, enjoy meals served buffet style under the terraced, open central structure. There is also a large sun deck with seating area - a perfect location for catching the sun rays in between dives or for enjoying an evening drink whilst watching the sun set. The dive spots at Kapalai are extremely close and can be reached in just a few minutes by boat and some of them, actually, just by swimming from the Resort's pier. It is also just a short distance by boat to dive the drop-offs at Sipadan, or to enjoy more muck diving at nearby Mabul. Diving around Kapalai involves easy, shallow dives but you'll be amazed at what you find on the sandy bottoms and coral reefs. The dive sites round Kapalai are home to such spectacular species as the Flamboyant Cuttlefish, Mandarin Fish, Nudibranches, Frog Fish and lots more.
