At Borneo Dream we focus on delivering high quality, safe and enjoyable scuba diving courses.
We offer a premier service and diving experience at an affordable price from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Our customers often say we are good value for money! That's why our wide range of PADI, TDI & IANTD scuba diving courses we include the following:
- Diving course material (as per PADI, TDI or IANTD standards for the specific course)
- Course certification
- Dives (as per PADI, TDI or IANTD standards for the specific course)
- Instruction by a qualified PADI / TDI / IANTD Instructor in ‘Teaching Status’
- Boat transfers on the best diving day boats in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah - our spacious and fully equipped catamaran Borneo Dream 3 (the largest, most well equipped diving day boat in Kota Kinabalu) or our fast, fun RIB.
- We have small ratios of students per PADI Dive Professional (so you will get personalised attention)
- FREE use of our rental dive gear including wet suit, BCD, regulator and gauges, fins, mask, snorkel, weights, weight belt and cylinders. We use well maintained, fully functioning, high quality dive gear. We provide a choice of shorty tropical 3mm wetsuits or full length tropical 3mm wet suits.
- And you get a towel, free flow tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water, fresh water shower, sun deck for chilling out between dives, sun tan lotion and lots of fun - and this is without leaving the boat!
- Lunch on an island with a choice of freshly coked tasty local dishes or western food.
- We have a full range of safety equipment on our boats - personal buoyancy aids, VHF radio, GPS Plotter, emergency medical grade oxygen with DAN portable oxygen kit.
- We can provide PADI courses in English, Mandarin and Berhasa Malay (both PADI material and instruction)
Borneo Dream diving courses do not include the Sabah Parks Daily Diving Permit (RM 30.00 for Malaysians and RM 60.00 for Non-Malaysians per diver for the duration of a certified course). We will show you the Official Receipt for your permit during your course.
All Borneo Dream diving courses depart from Jesselton Point Jetty in central Kota Kinabalu.
One of the Borneo Dream team will meet you at the entrance (archway) to Jesselton Point at 9:00am on the day of your course. They will then pay for your Jesselton Point Departure Tax and escort you to Borneo Dream 3 - ready for the start of your PADI course!
To get the most from your Borneo Dream scuba diving course:
- Please complete all required pre-study activities (as advised to you at time of booking)
- Please bring with you swimming gear, dry clothes, sun tan lotion, sun hat and sun glasses
Borneo Dream offers safe scuba diving courses - alongside them being high quality and enjoyable. As part of our focus on diver safety we will apply the following practices:
- Whether you are leiesure diving as a certified diver or taking part in course there are several forms and releases we will ask you to complete. It is always advisable to take a look at the forms prior to your arrival. A full list of the forms associated with diving can be found on our Scuba Diving & Snorkeling Forms Downloads page.
- Any participant under 18 years is supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
- You show your diver certification card at the start of your scuba diving course where a minimum certification level is required to participate in a course.
- You will be supervised by a Dive Professional that will be with you at all times throughout the days activity. All our Dive Professionals are insured and are in 'Active Teaching Status' with PADI / TDI / IANTD. You can verify this by asking for their qualification card.
