February 2008 - BorneoDream creates more Coral Ambassadors!

More Coral Ambassadors in Kudat, Banggi, Sabah by Borneo Dream - Learn to dive with the best, offering a wide range of PADI Scuba Lessons. Hey everything is A-OK! Learn the signs required to be a competent communicator under the water. A good dive - now lets get back onto the boat for a feedback and debrief session. A Professional Dive INstructor will always ensure you are familiar with your kit - take one of our Scuba diving courses at Borneo and we will make sure you are competent and comfortable.

We recently teamed up with WWF-Kudat team to deliver free PADI Open Water Diver training for three individuals from the local Kudat / Banggi community - an amazing experience offered only through WWF / BorneoDream. All of the students worked hard, had lots of fun and loved experiencing the beauty of the underwater world for the first time. Enjoy some of the photos taken capturing their experience.

They are all now certified PADI Open Water Divers and ready to be trained in reef monitoring techniques, by WWF, so they can become volunteer WWF reef checkers in the proposed Tun Mustapha Marine Park (TMP).

This is the second time Borneo Dream has offered free diving experiences to this community - with our next one currently being planned for later in March 2008. Word has spread in Banggi about our support and now ten more locals want to become certified divers.

This initiative forms part of our BorneoDream Coral Ambassadors programme. Through this programme we provide free diving experiences and marine education to local community members with the intention that they return to their communities, spread the word about bad and good practices and cease activities that damage the environment.
