The Usukan Bay Wrecks - Wreck Diving Malaysia

All these wrecks are in the order of 2,000 - 3,000 tons ? They call  out for Nitrox since they all lie in the 26 - 40 metre range. If you dive on air, be prepared for decompression dives or short bottom times, and watch it on the second dive. All computers rack up decompression time at an alarming rate on the second decompression dive of the day. The visibility on the wreck can vary from 10 to 15 metres to a fantastic 25 metres plus on some days. Generally the first few metres on the descent of very cloudy/milky, but after that it is usually great. We run regular trips to the fantastic wrecks why not take a look at our Usukan Bay Wreck Diving Day Trip or why not a Usukan Bay Wreck "Get Wrecked" Safari.

Usukan Bay Wreck - Wreck Diving Sabah

Lying in 40 metres on its port side, this wreck is covered in soft corals, abundant black corals and schools of fish. The rudder and propeller are in place as is a boiler and a large reciprocating steam engine amidships.

Upside-down Wreck - Wreck Diving Kota Kinabalu

This wreck is not quite upside-down but heavily canted over the vertical to port. There's a pleasant, longish swim through amidships with quite some machinery hanging above you!

The Rice Bowl Wreck - Wreck Diving Borneo

The 'upright' wreck! Well collapsed and broken near the bow that is twisted over to starboard. The propeller and rudder are in place at about 37 metres. The stern is a bit confused, but moving forward, a large reciprocating steam engine can be seen. The starboard side of the ship towards the bow has fallen down onto the sea-bed. There is a broken twist before the bow section. In the bow, that can be entered from the break or from the hatch near the peak, the room with the rice bowls can be entered. These are heavily broken and cemented into the general hard coral. There are the usual Japanese sake and beer bottles.

This wreck is covered in soft corals, abundant black corals and schools of fish. In May 2002, 50 or more cuttlefish had aggregated and laid millions of hanging eggs in the black coral. Please take a look at a recent trip to the Usukan Bay Wrecks it also has some great YouTube videos - May 2008 - Wreck diving at Usukan Bay and Gaya 50m deep wreck adventure with Mark Tuttle and Tino De Rijk . . . . Pulau Tiga - Dive Pulau Tiga with BorneoDream.com

Did you know the original 'Survivor' series was set on our very own Pulau Tiga? It is a forest-clad island in the south of Sabah, part of a three-island park called Pulau Tiga Park and it was chosen because of its untouched beauty and remoteness. It takes us a little over 90 minutes to cruise down to Pulau Tiga, Sabah, Malaysia for some lovely diving and excellent photo opportunities. Because of its remoteness the reefs are untouched by divers. We can offer Scuba Diving Day Trips to Pulau Tiga and for further general information please take a look at our Pulau Tiga web page.

Pulau Mantanani Island, Kota Belud, Malaysia - Dive Mantanani

Mantanani Island is actually a group of three isolated islands northwest of Kota Belud, a one-hour drive from Kota Kinabalu. Until recently, the islands were only known to a few locals. The largest island houses the only dive resort, Mantanani Resort which is situated at the western end on the edge of a white sandy bay - We can offer Day Diving and mini Diving Safaris to the region.

Nestled amongst the tall coconut palms are beach cabins scattered around the main plantation styled house. Three wrecks have been discovered which still hold plenty of secrets and are now home to a menagerie of marine creatures such as Lionfish, Scorpion fish, octopus, glassfish and the coral reefs surrounding the islands have plenty to offer, for both novice and experienced diver. Please take a look at the Scuba Diving Day Trip to Pulau Mantanani, Sabah, Malaysia or for further information have a peak at Mantanani Island.
