Your Diving CertificationAll affiliated Dive Centres and Operators such as a PADI Dive Centre, PADI Dive Resort, PADI IDC Centre, BSAC Resort Centre etc. are required by the agreement they signed to request proof of diving qualification / certification of divers prior to enrolling them on a diving activity. Usually, a certification card from a recognized dive association will do. The Dive Operator can then ensure they take divers on diving trips that are in line with their level of certification / training and experience. This approach is designed to protect diver safety. So certified divers should always ensure they take their diver certification card with them when looking to dive on holiday. Remember – If a Dive Centre or Operator does not ask you to show your certification and / or to fill out Medical Statement and Assumption of Risk & Liability Release forms, then it is not making your safety its paramount concern. Diver Safety at Borneo DreamFor new customers who request to go on diving trips (as certified divers) we will always ask to see evidence of certification first before we take them diving. We normally ask our customers to bring their certification card with them on their first diving trip so we can see it before we leave for our diving destinations. Once we have seen a customers certification card we will update our records so we don't need to ask for it again - Making it convenient for our customers who dive with us again, and again. When our customers forget their diver certification card, we will take all possible steps to confirm certification level with the appropriate association. If we are unable to confirm, then we have to assume the diver has no experience and limit activities accordingly. We hope divers in these circumstances understand we are putting their safety first.
