PADI Rescue Diver Tour DescriptionMany divers have said that this is the best and most rewarding course PADI do. Whether it be because they feel safer, more in control or just simply have a better understanding of risk management when diving. Most of the courses are about looking after yourself and checking on your buddy. With this course you are taking your first steps in not just looking after people, but been able to assist, reassure and prevent incidents before they happen. As part of this course we will go over your current First Aid training and put it into practical use within the scuba diving banner. The course has some specific requirements – you must be at least 12 years of age, be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or similar and hold a current, (i.e. no more than 2 years old) CPR Primary Care and Basic First Aid Secondary Care qualification. If you do not have such a First Aid qualification this can be offered by ourselves as an additional course combined with this - please click on the link to find out more details . . . . Emergency First Response. The course consists of the usual Manual, Knowledge Reviews to be completed, watching of a DVD and a multiple choice final exam. Then the practical element is ten (10) exercises to be completed in confined water/swimming pool and four (4) scenarios to be completed in the ocean The confined water/pool elements of the course will take place either in a local designated pool or in a confined water area on the TARP (please click here for more information on TARP) and the ocean elements will be in TARP. . The course duration varies from 2 to 3 days depending upon divers own physical fitness and their personal learning curve. We must insist a Risk and Medical Statement is signed by the participant (in the case of under 18's by the Parent or Guardian) and we must also insist that any participant under 18 years is supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. You will be supervised by a PADI Dive Professional that will be with you at all times throughout the days activity. All our Dive Professionals are insured and are in 'Active Teaching Status' with PADI. You can verify this by asking for their qualification card - only those in 'Active teaching Status" holding a qualification of PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, Instructor or higher may teach you. Start & End of the JourneyThe day starts at 9am and finishes about 5.30pm. Getting ThereWe will transfer you to either the designated pool or the BorneoDream jetty to take our boat out to the TARP. RequirementsSwimwear, sun block, mosquito repellent and a change of clothes.
