PADI Open Water Diver - Learn to dive, Scuba Diving Lessons

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be weightless like an astronaut ? Well now you can, the PADI Open Water Diver Course set in Kota Kinabalu, Borneo, Sabah, Malaysia is the ideal way to start. This first step in your learn to dive in Kota Kinabalu, Borneo, Sabah, Malaysia. We can offer scuba diving lessons in Kota Kinabalu, Borneo, Sabah, Malaysia for everyone from the age of 10 years.

We have everything you need, scuba diving equipment for rent and for sale, retail. Great PADI Instructors and Divemasters. Plus they are all in active teaching status, fully paid up members of PADI. Tour Description

You have completed a PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) or you simply want to achieve the most recognised Scuba Diving Qualification in the world. Then you need to sign up for your PADI Open Water Diver. We often hear ‘I got my PADI’ or ‘I want to get a PADI license’ - this is the course everyone is referring to. So, Start Today and Learn to Dive, Scuba diving lessons with the Professionals - We are fully insured, Qualified and in Active Teaching Status. If in doubt, please just ask.

 

The minimum age for this course and qualification is 10 years of age. There are five (5) sections to the course so you will be required to watch five (5) sections of a DVD, read five (5) chapters in the PADI Go-Dive manual, completing five (5) associated Knowledge Reviews, multiple choice final exam. After you have finished the study phase you will be required to attend five (5) confined water/swimming pool sessions, small water stamina tests and finally four (4) ocean dives to a maximum of 18m (For those aged 14 years or less this is reduced to 12m). You cannot complete any of the pool/ocean sessions if you have not completed the study phases. It is possible to provide you with access to the study data prior to your holiday or if you prefer to wait until you arrive here please note we will allow time at the start of your holiday to complete the study. Having completed your studying the pool and ocean sessions will take you approximately 3 days.

We must  insist a Risk and Medical Statement is signed by the participant (in the case of under 18's by the Parent or Guardian) and we must also insist that any participant under 18 years is supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. 

 

The confined water/pool elements of the course will take place either in a local designated pool or in a confined water area on the TARP (Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park) For further information please click on TARP. And the ocean elements will be in TARP. 

 

You will be supervised by a PADI Dive Professional that will be with you at all times throughout the days activity. All our Dive Professionals are insured and are in 'Active Teaching Status' with PADI. You can verify this by asking for their qualification card - only those in 'Active teaching Status" holding a qualification of PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, Instructor or higher may teach you.

The trip includes hotel and boat transfer, lunch and use of our scuba equipment.

 

Start & End of the Journey

The day starts at 9am and finishes about 5.30pm.

 

Getting There

We will transfer you to either the designated pool or the BorneoDream jetty to take our boat out to the TARP.

 

Requirements

Swimwear, sun block, mosquito repellent and a change of clothes.

 

Please note - to take part in these activities you must be able to swim, be in good health and if you are on any medication you should consult your doctor before signing up. So are you ready for your scuba diving lessons in Malaysia or learn to dive in Sabah. If so we are ready for you.
