PADI Discover Scuba Diving - Learn to dive, A scuba diving lesson, Start Today ! Tour Description You've had a PADI - Discover Scuba experience - a try-dive - and now you are totally hooked and want to set out on the road to becoming a fully fledged PADI diver. PADI Discover Scuba Diving - or DSD as it is known - is available to all those aged 10yrs and over. It takes a day to cover the course requirements. We must insist a Risk and Medical Statement is signed by the participant (in the case of under 18's by the Parent or Guardian) and we must also insist that any participant under 18 years is supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. After we have all the paperwork sorted out you will be given a presentation all about discovering the underwater world. Once you are happy with the information we get you into the water which may either be in a local swimming pool or a segregated area off the island of Sapi in the TARP. Here you get to master the 6 key skills required to give you confidence and safety in the water. Once we are happy you have mastered these we can take you out into the ocean where you can start to experience the true beauty of the underwater world. You will be supervised by a PADI Dive Professional that will be with you at all times throughout the days activity. All our Dive Professionals are insured and are in 'Active Teaching Status' with PADI. You can verify this by asking for their qualification card - only those in 'Active teaching Status" holding a qualification of PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, Instructor or higher may teach you. You can find some more information on safety and checks required for a diving trip on Our Safety pages - whoever you take a tour with it's a good idea to make sure they are following rigid standards and procedures to ensure your safety at all times. Your days experience can be accredited as part of the PADI Open Water Diver Course. Start & End of the Journey The day starts at 9am and finishes about 4.30pm. Getting There We will transfer you to either the designated pool or the BorneoDream jetty to take our boat out to the TARP. Requirements Swimwear, sun block, mosquito repellent and a change of clothes. Please note - to take part in these activities you must be able to swim, be in good health and if you are on any medication you should consult your doctor before signing up.
