PADI Discover Scuba with the Borneo Dream Team in Malaysian Borneo Tour Description This is another PADI experience for anyone from the age of 8 years. This is aimed at those who want a confined water/swimming pool based 'taste' of scuba diving. We must insist a Risk and Medical Statement is signed by the participant (in the case of under 18's by the Parent or Guardian) and we must also insist that any participant under 18 years is supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. To help you understand how this experience sits in the hierarchy of PADI Courses - it is to give a 'taster' of what if feels like to scuba dive - also known as a 'try-dive'. It will take about an hour to get you set up in the gear, drop into the pool and get the 'feel' of the equipment and experience for the first time, breathing on Scuba (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus). Some people are very uncertain that they will be comfortable breathing under the water so this is a perfect opportunity to have a go and become familiar with the feeling. You wont get any qualification at the end of the experience but you will be more comfortable in the equipment and hopefully ready to progress to a higher level such as the PADI Discover Scuba Diving course which will start you on the road to being a qualified PADI diver. You will be supervised by a PADI Dive Professional that will be with you at all times throughout the days activity. All our Dive Professionals are insured and are in 'Active Teaching Status' with PADI. You can verify this by asking for their qualification card - only those in 'Active teaching Status" holding a qualification of PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, Instructor or higher may teach you.
