PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysian Borneo Tour Description Taking the PADI Adventures in Diving programme further forward leads us into the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course. This programme consists of five (5) ocean dives of which two (2) of them must be Deep and Navigation. The other three (3) may be chosen from the Speciality Training list referred to in the above Adventure Diver section - Please click on the link to review the different choices . . . . specialties. Most of these speciality programmes will be run in TARP (click for more information on Tunku Abdul Rahman Park) but the Wreck and Nitrox specialities will be run at Usukan Wreck - the nearest wreck to Kota Kinabalu. This then qualifies the diver to dive to a depth of 30m (Those aged 14 years or less this is reduced to 21m) compared to the 18m of the PADI Open Water Diver course. As each dive on the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course represents the first dive of the associated Speciality, were to complete three (3) further deep dives with us you could qualify as a PADI Deep Diver with a depth rating of 40m (For the PADI Deep Diver Speciality the minimum age is 15 years). Minimum age of 12 years. Maximum course duration 2.5 days. We must insist a Risk and Medical Statement is signed by the participant (in the case of under 18's by the Parent or Guardian) and we must also insist that any participant under 18 years is supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. You will be supervised by a PADI Dive Professional that will be with you at all times throughout the days activity. All our Dive Professionals are insured and are in 'Active Teaching Status' with PADI. You can verify this by asking for their qualification card - only those in 'Active teaching Status" holding a qualification of PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, Instructor or higher may teach you. Start & End of the Journey The day starts at 9am and finishes about 5.30pm. Getting There We will transfer you to the BorneoDream jetty to take our boat out to your adventure destination. Requirements Swimwear, sun block, mosquito repellent and a change of clothes.
